I haven't slept in over 36 hours. That is absolutely crazy!!! From the noisy bus ride to JFK, the four hours spent waiting for our 6:35am departure to San Juan, and the two uncomfortable flights in between getting to Dominica, I am exhausted! But on the bright side, this island is absolutely gorgeous: stunning rivers, coconut trees as far as the eye can see, turquoise ocean water, and friendly locals. On the hour and a half drive from the Melville Airport to our hotel on Roseau, I saw firsthand cinnamon trees (they smell delicious!), experienced blinding sunshine during a rainstorm, and didn't take nearly enough pictures. I am in love with Dominica so far! Walking around the town a bit tonight with the other students was such a great sneak peek into this country's culture; I cannot wait for what's in store tomorrow!
P.S. - Almost fell asleep during dinner with the president. Don't think he noticed. Phew.
P.P.S. - Saw a sign with Psalm 63:1 today - just another reason this country is amazing!
